Futaba Quarter-VGA monochrome FED display

That would be quarter-VGA (half the pixels of VGA in each direction). A 5" QVGA display has about the same pixel pitch as a 10" VGA display.
BTW- A QVGA monochrome field emission display is not very exciting at this time. More advanced displays were exhibited at the SID conference in San Diego this year.

I don't know enough about the costs to put any numbers in here. The lifetime of the masks depends a great deal on how they are used. Contact masks do suffer wear and tear, but I have no idea how much. The projects I have worked on up till now rarely used a mask more than 10-100 times before we invented something better, so wear wasn't an issue.

I can only answer one of those questions... Yes, I am with Silicon Video. The name has now changed to "Candescent Technology Corp."
