Im still taking my cinchona bark tea supplemented with zinc as a prophylactic. My PCP has had phenomenal success with the HCQ + zinc + Z-pack regimen, so I have it available should I need it.

I was thinking about quercetin + zinc but decided against when I learned that the flavonoids, though zinc ionophores, have a very short half life - hours - in the body. One could be at risk if it is not taken for a couple of days. In addition, individual responses are far from uniform.

Quinine derivatives have a 30-40 day half life so it’s not detrimental to occasionally forget to take the tea. Plus, the science regarding quinine derivatives acting as zinc ionophores is much more well-established.
