Wow--can you imagine spending 6-7 hours a day playing that game??? I gave it up after I realized some of these players obviously had played so much that they had prepared answers and phrases. Dan still plays-he's very good at it, though not as good as CW, who had worked out a statistical basis for whether he goes for the speed answer or the clever one.
We are upset because we've just learned that our newest computer--Ammo's--isn't compatible with the new games. We gave him the game Gettsburg for his birthday, an historically accurate battle game with incredible graphics and sound, and when he loaded it, it destroyed his sound card and he had to reinstall his harddrive--lost everything. THere's something now that you have to have--DirectX?? And Compaq doesn't have it. My computer isn't fast enough, CW has just rebuilt his and isn't about to trade. So we're faced with buying another. Why would a computer company build something that can't do everything?????? And how the heck would a normal person have known that??? Then Dan will have his own computer for Acrophobia. But then he'll probably want his own phone line.....it never stops.
