So the gist of the article is that Tesla provides a car with a much lower total cost of ownership b/c there is minimal after market sales, but the other auto makers can't do the same b/c they are dependent on the after market sells.

Did I miss anything?

P.S. I did not miss the parts about how buying a car can be a gateway to other sales opportunities. But those too seem to be one time sales.
