The core problem of politics on stock threads is that they always come in the plural - you never see just one peaceful politic minding its own business, happily munching taxpayer cash as it savours the Oneness of All Things ... no, they - and it's always 'they' - show up usually in twos, which is probably the worst number, as they cause the raising of voices, the lowering of intelligence, and the butting of heads ... their name never ends in that lilting up-tick of poll-y-Tick, light, airy, and life-affirming ... no, always ends with this hissing serpential snake-sound ess - poll-y-tickssss
Maybe if they roamed the hills and valleys of the internet like caribou, in throngs of hundreds, of thousands, then it might be possible to imagine finding somewhere among politics a variety with some vestigial remnant of a clue, and at the same time a reasonably civilised homo sapiens sapiens style, such as that practised by Gary Johnson in 2016, but no such hope can ever arise when they descend in their most common herd size, of two [2.0] ... enough to be plural, not enough to escape moronosity
And so pointless too - anybody ever heard of anyone changing their political position because of somebody else's politics rant on a stock thread? ... me neither ... makes ya wonder eh ... it can get so ridiculous that in a related discussion of Cohen songs, multiple titles can be mentioned and never Bird on a Wire! ... wtf!
No, the thing is to limit politics to one at a time, a single politic ... with its choosing, and timing, decided on by the dude with the ban button, because hey, one hand washes the other in politics, eh ... so here, heading into each fourth november, the rule will be that i supply the politic ... oh, and don't hold your breath waiting either, unless you hear they're having some success resurrecting Gary Johnson ... meantime what might be more productive than politics in twos [2.0s] would be to look for some suitably melodic religion ... maybe start here? -
