Dave - Well said. IMO, once Intel is in the door, they are going to be tough to kick out. Therefore, timely rollout of S3's next generation product seems critical to me. I'd be much more comfortable with spring rather than mid-year.

Intel is a tough one to call, they are trying to dream up applications that require higher end processors. Yet, the majority of the business world needs to use an Office Suite and that's about it. Is there a real need for MMX? No. Is there a real need for PII? No.

For example, except for games, my Pentium 60 at home gets the job done most of the time and that scares the heck out of Intel. Only routes to go are to integrate functions into the processor/motherboard (lowers overall cost, may increase volume) and attack upward towards the server end. IMO Intel is doing both.

Mark.
