I am not so sure about the right-wing plot theory, Jeff. I believe the symbolism of being stuck in the mud is definitely karmic in nature, metaphorically speaking.
Incidentally, and as an aside, Miss Lewinksy is a Buddhist!!! I suspect the very basics of her religious studies have eluded her, however, but of course that is certainly just a moral judgment on my part. Perhaps this is just an extremely pathetic way to get, um, vegetable protein!!!!!! (Sorry, Miss Penni)
