I checked into this earlier, and though Farsight and DLJDirect won't let you sell a BB stock prior to delivery of the shares, E-Schwab will, provided you do the trade on the phone rather than on-line.

Of course, someone can also drive the certs to any local brokerage and sell them if they like.

The avenues are only somewhat limited, but it certainly is possible for someone to sell BB certs in an instant if they like.
