Why do you all assume that more government spending on education equals better education? Interesting rebuttal to that position in a recent Economist (I sound like a tout for them, eh?) that compared gov edu spending in various countries with economic success/growth, percentage of educated population, status of women, etc. Asian countries, especially Korea, Japan got lots more for their gov edu money than US or Germany. Of course this was before currency crisis. What is the relationship between gov spending on education and soundness of currency? Relationship between gov spending on science edu and success of biotechs? All kidding aside, we the people can spend our own money on education and make better individual dicisions than either the Republicans or Democrats have.
