My DSL service is slow (10Mbps max on a good day) and unreliable but is the only wired choice available in my rural location. I recently talked to Verizon about Jetpack and an honest employee explained their throttling restrictions on even my "unlimited" data plan. After you reach 15 GB/mo, the speed is throttled way back. This essentially eliminates Jetpack as a wireless option for me. I believe the employee was indirectly hinting to wait for 5G for a better solution, but who knows when or if that may be available in rural areas. CBRS might be a good solution if Windstream offers it for rural areas, but buying a Jetpack would be a total waste of money for my situation.
