to all, another take on USWest... this message was posted on the Yahoo PAIR board, and was allegedly received by someone who contacted them directly about Paradyne

Michael,
The article you reference from the TeleChoice Website was posted, I believe, late Monday evening in response to activity at CommNet in Washington D.C. U S WEST has made no statement of its intention to deploy Paradyne equipment as part of its DSL deployment. I would caution you against reading too much into speculation, particularly that generated from a trade show. Once U S WEST does issue a release announcing information related to its DSL deployment, we will, of course, post it on PR Newswire, Business Wire, Dow Jones and First Call, as well as on the U S WEST Website (www.uswest.com).
I can assure you that U S WEST's DSL service will meet all proposed standards from the recently formed Universal ADSL Working Group. U S WEST was one of the primary drivers of the consortium, and it has made a commitment to work with the group to develop standards that will benefit everyone, including consumers.
Thanks for your interest in U S WEST and our DSL service. As you're probably aware, U S WEST was the first company in the nation to offer a generally available DSL service (which we launched in Phoenix). We are looking forward to continuing our tradition of being first and best.
Best wishes,
