As a Mac user, I've been partial to Synology NAS setups, as I understand their Mac support is better than the others.

Eventually I plan to have a large-ish (15-20 TB) Synology RAID 6 or RAID 10 array because I want to have a double redundant setup so I don't have to worry about a back up system, it'll be built-in.

The reason I want so much space is I have a large number of Blu-ray disks and I want to convert them to MKV format. Those files are 20-40 GB each, so you can imagine the space they'll take up.
