Yes, that's what it means. There have been PCMCIA type III hard disks available for a couple of years. Last I heard, the top capacity available was right around 260MB.

Yes, there's no question that completely solid state media such as flash are more durable overall than Clik! could be. Any non-mechanical storage solution is preferable from an engineering viewpoint.

Consumer products, however, have to meet several other criteria, including cost and convenience, in order to succeed.
