Thanks Don.

The horsepower is mainly needed for encoding, where a Core i5 or better really makes a NAS shine. Encoding can bring many Celerons to their knees.

As we've discussed privately, it's just a matter of whether I want to take the time to encode my ISO files separately in Handbrake, or try to go with a NAS that can handle encoding on the fly.

When I get the time I'll figure it out. I'm not terribly worried about paying more or a high powered Synology, I've always been a fan of paying the bigger bucks for better hardware because the devices end up lasting me far longer. Overall that means less time spent upgrading and all the tasks that go along with it.
