so many folks of merit never get a shot in your country
The only folks of merit that don't get a shot on my country are Asians who get discriminated against thanks to affirmative action.

If you are a "disadvantaged minority," and you even have a hint of merit, you get the whole world handed to you on a silver platter.

That's the modern-day form of "institutionalized racism." Affirmative action, wealth redistribution, and everything else that is meant to equalize outcomes instead of equalizing opportunity.
