Bob,
I think S3 is very aware of Intel. In the conference call they said that Intel would be a long term player in graphics industry. What do you think S3 is thinking? How do we survive? I have reviewed Advance d Micro Devices balance sheet, revenues, and stock price. If I were a betting man, I would like the chances of the possiblity of AMD going after S3. It seems as if they both need each other. Given that S3 stock is below book value and AMD price is at a premium of 1.3x book, AMD could pull this off without a minimal cash injection, especially in light of the fact that S3 has $100 million of cash. AMD then could sell of S3's investment in the fab.
