<< The interface and autodetect circuitry is internal to the drive in Zip Plus. You use the same cable for either parallel or SCSI. The interface for SyJet is in the cable, so you have a separate cable for SCSI and parallel. Slight advantage to Zip Plus in that aspect (only need one cable), but not significant. >> Michael, can you tell me whether the EPP Zip Plus uses the same EPP device driver (in which case, the Zip Plus continues to speak SCSI command set) or requires a new custom EPP driver (ala the EPP-EIDE external CD-ROM and HDD's)? Also, how is it that you only need one cable for the Zip Plus? The EPP port on a PC is a female DB25, while SCSI connectors are usually the HD50 or the older (ugh) "Centronics" 50 (both female). Granted, I know that older Mac's used DB25, but surely not any of the current generation Mac's! Joseph
