The vigilante shot somebody ...
Rittenhouse was no vigilante. He was there to help clean up graffiti and put out fires. He was even recorded holding a fire extinguisher.

The first guy who Rittenhouse shot, Joseph Rosenbaum, was going around setting fires. He started chasing Rittenhouse, because you know, arsonists don't like people putting out fires.

Rittenhouse becomes cornered. He hears a shot, so he fears for his life. He shoots Rosenbaum in order to escape.

Like the other two losers, Rosenbaum was clearly the aggressor. All three people played stupid games and won stupid prizes.
