You can't sell electricity that doesn't exist. - It's the way of the Free Markity. Our electric utility is a city-owned non-profit which produces sufficient electricity and distributes it for the needs of our City. That's how it works. . No one is going to keep their power plant producing unsold electricity in hopes that you might give them a call or send them a nifty new 5G electro-communication asking to buy electricity right now. If you want someone to bring in their employees, start-up and run their power plant without a load, you have to pay them to do this. Sadly this normal behavior among utilities of paying for spare-running-capacity eliminates the "savings" that were allegedly going to be provided by Free Markity - because the savings were a miscalculation based on a delusion. Until these Libertarian Clowns open their pocketbooks to pay for sufficient batteries or spare running capacity to provide for their surge demand, like normal humans do, they'll periodically suffer black-outs - it's simple physics. Instead of paying money for spare capacity, when they run short of electricity they use their magic telephone to beg for electricity we need for our own use, and we tell them to fuck off. We could tell them to fuck off via a revolutionary new 5G relay connection just as easily. We're the city of Los Angeles, not the libertarian mother ship. . San Diego doesn't like buying enough fire fighting equipment to fight their own fires. It's a form of Republican self-abuse. When San Diego begs Los Angeles for firefighting equipment that's currently in use, we give them the bad news that we aren't going to be renting them any just as easily. No magic communications system will ever change that answer. If they choose to Free Markity burn to death, they have our OK to burn.
