Tim I do not think HP manufactures semiconductor chips. In fact the more I think about it the more I'm certain that they do not. Can't seem to ever recall HP fab plans...

I suspect HP is one or two steps higher in the FC food chain. LSI on the other hand is at the bottom making the ICs for the guys higher up.

So funny as it may sound LSI and HP may both have 80% of the FC market but each has 80% of different things.

That's my best guess. HP is one of LSI's customers.
