I gave up on them, but not on my country. The Lincoln Project has an ad which ends by saying something like, we can't change what you think and that's why we must defeat you. Republican know their party isn't sane anymore and it hasn't been sane for a very long time. It's a waste of my time to ask a republican to raise taxes or do anything for the greater good because he'll call me a communist or a socialist. When republicans raise taxes and raise them a lot, I'll listen to them, but not one second before then. They see the debt and they still beg for more tax cuts. They saw their party demand spending cuts under Obama and then gave us trillion-dollar deficits under Trump before the virus hit. They're NOT reasonable so I'll leave trying to fix them to people like you but it's a waste of time.
