John, it's a theoretical line, ie " tomorrow to cover the shorts. With the AD campaign kicking in this weekend you are going to have a whole bunch of new buyers , millions theoretically, who have NEVER heard of Vivus and they will be interested and decide to buy the stock. Price will go up. At same time the longs know that this is coming; they will not sell:further upward pressure to price; ie the old supply and demand: if demand is high and supply low, price will in crease. The shorts will panic, just like every other investor does when you have price changes going against your interest: they cover: further upward price pressure: a short squeeze? In small caps remember, short squeezes will send smal cap stocks up 10 points a day or 20-30 points over 2-3 days: Zitel, Presstek, Iomega, just to name a few. Thus it would make sense for an informed short to cover tomorrow, quiet market, than take your chances facing millions of Americans dialing their broker Re " I want Vivus stock" , don't you think? BTW if you or any short will be looking for me during the squeeze, I will be the guy in the leather jacket, blue pants selling you the stock for you to cover, somewhere around 30-40. I sincerely hope though you will not be involved in this gory transaction, gg; you sound like a nice guy, gg.
