This overnight decline will not stick for long. I doubt it lasts for more than a session, if that long. A strong rally off the bottom will ensue to SPX 3475-3500 at least. I say this because there were clearly 5 waves up off the 3209 SPX lows.

As for your cap gains point, it is not worth selling and paying the tax even at a lower rate during an extended Bull market.

And are institutions and pension funds subject to the increased cap gains tax?
