The home buyer was the son of my friend..............He is in his early 50s, divorced, and with grown kids. He took a senior engineering management (with ABB) position down there for over $120K. He is an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He was raised on eastern Long Island and lived (rented) most recently in the Pittsburgh area. The property taxes on this home is $336...............the taxes on a comparable home ( estimated at $190K) here in Lagrange NY would likely be about $7K..................................just as a point of fact for all those who may consider Bluefield, West Virginia an educational backwater .............
