I finally came up with a way to fix our school system. Have the local school boards privatize the schools. Yes, it will take years to do it, but it's a way out. We would have to start in a conservative State, probably in Wyoming, North or South Dakota, because in a blue state the Legislature would outlaw it.

The goal would be to have two private school companies running the schools in a District so that the School board could judge how well each is doing compared to each other. You would have to first elect a School Board committed to that as a goal. The "salami" it in, a school at a time, until it was complete. It would be extremely difficult to do in the first couple of districts. Then easier and easier as more of them became successful.

The Teachers Union Reps are Legislative overlords in almost all of the Blue States. In the California Capital, Sacramento, they strut the Legislative halls and are bowed down to like Kings by all the Dem Polls and most of ours also. Every wish of theirs is a command to our Pols.

The present Charter School approach is not succeeding. Having the School Boards privatize the schools would work, IMO.
