From Sep 97 quarterly report:

Revenues from international operations increased by 74% to $34.8
million or 16% of total revenues for the third quarter of 1997, compared to $20.0 million or 17% of total revenues for the same quarter of the prior year.

Random Thoughts:

1) Any mis-steps by Baan will be to the benefit of Peoplesoft. If interested, go to www.upside.com and read Yankee Group / Howard Anderson analysis of software industry...to paraphrase "Peoplesoft is great, Baan is about to implode on it's own mis-steps".

2) The BAAN downgrade is not a surprise and I wouldn't read into it anything about the overall ERP industry. Baan has currency issues that hit top and bottom line about 10 - 15%. They are in the process of absorbing the Aurum takeover.

3) The most successful software companies have created a business culture of single minded focus on the companies mission and serving customers. It may seem like a minor thing, but I wonder how a company with 2 headquarters, Netherlands and U.S., can get everybody pointed in the same direction. It just does not seem very efficient. SAP has the same situation - Any thoughts about this ?

Cheers. John.
