This is my first entry on this board.
One of the 'problems' with nuclear power generation IS the nuclear waste material. As of today there are tons and tons of spent nuclear waste that, in effect, will have to be managed, controlled and secured for centuries. What waste has already been generated is a very costly industry. So my question is: I agree nuclear generated electricity is the only long term solution for generating electricity, but, how do we contain the waste for eternity?? To me, that's the only factor holding back investments in nuclear energy using nuclear material, but, what will happen to that material centuries from now?? There isn't any method or process to permanently dispose of this material since it's going to exist virtually forever.

This may have been discussed here before, but, I'd like to see some current thoughts, please.
