I spend 45 seconds using Filesync a few times a day to back-up new and changed files from the Documents folder to a RAID 1 Synology server in a secure part of our home via the home network. The Documents files are also synced to other home and laptop computers. So there's a quite a few copies.

Once every six months or so I use Acronis to make a full back-up of each computer to 2 TB USB drives - amazon.com - just so I don't need to spend much time doing Windows updates in the rare event a computer fails. Using Acronis to restore a drive is pretty reassuring.

Only new data files warrant frequent backups.
