I'm a little puzzled by this company. I thought that the focus of this company was solid state optical memory devices. Now they have a minifuel cell division. Is this sort of a conglomerate for edge technologies? Is there any common feature between the two projects? Isn't it unusual to have R+D done this way? As a separate C corporation, I guess that they can raise money via IPO. However if a project fails, what do you get to write it off against? I thought that this would be the very beauty of doing this type of project as an LP or part of a profitable endeavor. The article says that Maslow does these sorts of things. Does anyone know of his previous track record?
