anyone with common sense knows the electoral college is an antiquated system, that serves no current useful purpose except getting incompetent Rs elected to the highest office in the land, backed by their corporate overlords... It was also originally intended to thwart an incompetent criminal from being elected by the people, since the "electors" of each state are actually the ones who certify who wins the state. If ever there was a time that power should have been used was 2016

and the fact that each state gets 2 senators regardless of population is fucking insane... it's why we have the grim reaper and scotus appointees who are actually against the popular opinion of the public
