I am not an expert on US history, but what is certain the "founding fathers" and Mayflower immigrants erased whole nations that lived on what is now the US, and in the south of the Americas the Spanish and Portuguese wiped out the rest. If authentic the movie 1492 Conquest of paradise reflects best, the bestiality of the Europeans. The Anglo Saxons where no better in taking over the North American territories from the local population in the name of a new "so called nation". They did is because "they could" as Sen Whitehouse claimed recently on the US Senate floor. Writing all the above there are a great majority of US citizen that are much more human and law abiding in contrast to the first wave of penniless settlers (mostly outcast people) with a gun and a zeal to get quickly rich. The romanticizing of the period as revealed in the movies of the wild west with Clint Eastwood did not add to the humanity of the people living during those times just a bunch of glorified greedy murderess
