I use ZIP's every day. I have 3 drives, 25 discs, and I have never had a problem.

But, IF there is a problem out there I hope Iomega stands behind their product.

Intel had a problem like that years ago, I think it was with the Pentium 60, there were bad chips sent out, they finally came good for it and replaced them.
