It wasn't. I have been trying to make some sense about what Trump's strategy has been because it mostly makes no sense whatsoever. I guess he is trying to run as an outsider and blame the Democrats and the deep state while he is in power. Maybe he feels that doing the same thing he did in 2016 will work again. It might have worked if there wasn't any pandemic. That is something he can't run away from. One of the other things I think about, and maybe this is more along the lines of what McConnell is doing, is trying to make everything bad and blame the Dems for not being able to fix it while being an obstructionist. You know Trump will say if he loses that he turned over everything rosy to Biden and he blew it. While most will not believe this, it will make it harder to govern, especially if Biden doesn't get the Senate as well.
