my response to you was sorta 'tongue in cheek'.
I think that his main driver now is to leave Biden as
big a mess as he can in all aspects - that's the
vindictive asshole he is.

the insults he is hurling at dr. fauci are not surprising either.
he ran up a trail ballon and threw a few critical remarks out
at one of his recent rallies and the crowd cheered, so he
is running with it now.

he's not a stupid man, only a small, mean, 'deeply flawed'
one, as Kelly so aptly put it.
