I was thinking about our present situation and the choice of who we have to vote for. Without a doubt it is Biden. But I was thinking about what needs to be done in this country and the world and feel that at some point in time, we need some younger people to lead the country. The choices that we have to vote for are fear and hope. The people that are hanging onto Trump don't want to go forward. They keep reaching for something more comfortable in their past. And Trump motivates them with fear. The Biden voters are looking in a forward manner. To something better that they can imagine. I can understand some of the antipathy looking to an almost 80 year old to take us into the future. I think he has embraced the progressive agenda to the extent that he can. And that is probably the right balance to get elected in this country. But a younger person would also be nice.

The big thing for Biden is not only winning the election and undoing the Trumped up things in this country. He needs to build a more durable Democratic Party so something like Trump doesn't happen again. The biggest failure of the Obama years is just this. He didn't leave the Democrats in a strong enough position. Maybe, with the Democratic billionaires realizing the need for a strong party, they can shore up the party like Bloomberg is doing.
