Sam, social scientist do agree with each other, in the main, because it is science.
It is science that can be quantified e.g. that the more education a person gets the longer they will live, and the more money they will make, and the less crime they will commit and the more productive they will be.
I spent two years at the University of Washington getting a masters degree in Public Administration (MPA).
I know the subject matter. Social scientist do not have huge disagreements about e.g. the need for social programs.
Sure there are always differences, but only around the edges. And I am contrasting the social theory to what the philosophy of the Republican party is, or is not, and to what the general public believes. .
If you look at the advanced liberal societies that work best, like the Nordic countries, South Korea, Taiwan, New Zealand, Iceland, and much of Europe, etc, you will see a consistency in their social programs e.g. affordable education, robust welfare programs, universal health care, gay marriage, pro choice, NO death penalty, help for addicts, etc.
Most of those things are not subscribed to by the Republicans because they like many do not even believe in social science. |
