Admittedly, Starlink is only in the launch phase, and Globalstar got that part done albeit with a dozen failure by Zenith. Perhaps Starlink has bung marketing ideas too. Tesla is off to a good start but isn't paying a return on investment and the cars aren't a cheaper way to get the job done than gasoline.

Maybe Starlink will fail the market test.

The losses in investing are vast = an infinite number of ways to waste effort. But swarms keep coming back to try again.

The world is vastly better because the next generation enjoys the streamlined working stuff without the failure cost of the previous efforts. That process has been going for a couple of hundred years now on a large scale and the pace is accelerating with 7 billion people at it.

I wonder if Wal-Mart man ever thinks about what it has taken to get him there.

Last night I spotted Mars and thought maybe Elon is serious about dying on Mars. The trip isn't all that far. And he might even get back, but as a last action, being the first person to land on Mars would be quite a record.

We've come down long way since sailing around the world, first flight and climbing Mount Everest.

Elon has the money to do it. But dying on a deflected 5km diameter asteroid would be even better and more useful.

PS... Wow, krypton ion thrusters = like Superman. Starlink satellites are equipped with efficient ion thrusters powered by krypton that enable the satellites to orbit raise, maneuver in space, and deorbit at the end of their useful life. Starlink is the first krypton propelled spacecraft ever flown.
