United at least is maintaining many of its non-stop flights to destinations in Europe, whereas Delta and others have cancelled many non-stop flights, providing connections to smaller cities via Paris or Frankfurt. These changes suggest that United may end up selling more seats to Europe than other airlines that force travelers to have one or two intermediate stops. My data come from selecting flights to various cities in Europe, at various dates in October, November, and December, on the Orbitz web site.

The fares, no matter which airline you select, are no bargain, but United allows two checked bags if you buy a premium economy fare, or an extra fee for any checked bag if you select the lowest economy fare.
