Bob-

The reasons for the price spike in '96 are indeed discussed in the old posts, but I don't expect you'll browse all 8000 of them.

There are two main causes. One is an agreement signed with Bayer AG to distribute TRIBY's products in Asia. But the biggest jump in price didn't come until a few days later, in the middle of one of TRIBY's first conference calls. Brokers were giving the Irish lads real-time quotes as the stock passed $5, and were probably snapping up all they could get to build inventory and not miss out on the next hot stock. Thus I would say the real catalyst for the price spike was a well-timed bit of marketing.
