Look- we need language in order to talk about things. You can't have a discussion if you don't know the words. I'll give you an example- many people have seen a slice of life movie, or seen something that started "in medias res" or seen an unreliable narrator- but if you don't know that terminology, it's going to take you a hell of a long time to describe those things BEFORE you get to the substance of what you wanted to say.

There is a reason we use the term "coin" when we talk about making a new word. Language is valuable. Those who are ignorant of language are a lot less interesting and can't get their thoughts out because they just don't have a vocabulary to say what they mean. So you NEED philosophical labels- of course you also need to read the philosophers who came up with them, or at least a wiki on them, so you know what you're talking about.

Otherwise it's just sound and fury signifying nothing.
