Unbroken chains
or
Soup nazis

One of the best tweaks to attract new users would simply be giving them new cars.
Barring the outlay of prodigious sums of cash it becomes more difficult.
Reddit is very popular today with young people.
There are a variety of tools for trying to determine the worth of anything written on Reddit.
On SI it is much more difficult, you really need to have some background to get started.
What escapes many people when they arrive at SI is that the long chains here are unbroken.
People casually discussing last nights dinner may have been interacting for twenty years or more.
These extremely long chains of interaction have none of the usual hallmarks of other long human chains.
kidl's post is a great example of a long chain interaction, Kirk just found out Henry is ninety five awhile ago.
Many SItizens dropped into say Happy UnBirthday to Henry on his birthday.
Kirk is no newcomer and neither is Henry, both are old timers on SI.
The ripples of that one post will travel a long way.
All the people who knew Henry and Kirk will go wow, Kirk just noticed Henry was old.
The people who know Kirk and read Kirk's posts will all learn about Henry and learn more about Kirk .
Kirk's praise of Henry for being a sharp razor and a favourite chartist will be helped along.
The meme pack will coalesce when Henry is mentioned here and kidl notices and links Kirk's poll.
kidl's readers who may know Henry or Kirk (or neither) will likely go and click on Kirk's poll.
The memes travel in small packs and really make a nice trail when they want to.
Ace77 will look and find the Classic TA Workplace started by Henry, a valuable SubjectMark on SI.
The Bookmark on Henry's workplace will add to those already there, the theater audience grows larger.
The long chains being unbroken is one of the reasons SI is so potent.

All of us know who the Soup Nazi is on SI.
Even though the works may be repainted and refurbished the chains remain connected.
I chose that example because of the recent change, perhaps warranted by public perception of the term.
So the chains remain unbroken, this chain acts like a receptor in your digital construct.
When I talk about the Jail I automatically link the chain that leads to what's her name and her jail.
The chains connect to things of which we may not even be cognizant.
It isn't that we are influencers as much as we are a selected filtered group, we serve a purpose.
We are a sounding board, we are a fabric, we are just a discussion board on the internet.
We are all here voluntarily, we found our way here through myriad paths.
I believe SI is one of the tools of the new mind, it is phase of human interaction that is ongoing.
The court of public opinion is the least that is offered here, the genesis of those opinions is here.
The first in "first community" is real insofar as the idea gelled here and remains linked to here.
The criterion for being a member in 1997 was pretty steep.
Leisure time, a computer, a desire to express yourself to others about stocks and investments.
It was also the perfect format for stealing money from trusting investors.
In the beginning it was completely restrictive, OT was really OT, there was no moderation, just jail.
The coffee shop threads appeared, the sense of community grew, no one was an island.
Moderated threads and the Ignore button were added, there are entire levels of chains shared by just a few.
Only the people who were here and argued the merits of the Ignore button have the chains to those events.
They simply cannot be given away afterwards, you had to be there.
For the general public the soup nazi will always be the soup nazi on Seinfeld, for many here on SI, not.
The chain connecting to the soup nazi might lead deeper for some, back to the kid, and so it goes.
For every webnode there is a chain linking it to a subset of SItizens, some active, some not.
Other countries have National Treasures, we have Natural Treasures.
