We get 100 mile winds in Juneau all the time in winter.

We call them Taku's.

A high pressure area to the east forces the wind through mountains behind us that are like large chocolate drops.

Once a fire starts it is almost impossible to put out. The city of Douglas across the channel has burned down twice.

One can just barely walk in those winds. I once walked down a hill to the theatre and had to go from one doorway to the next holding on to things, looking out for flying debris

I really wanted to see that movie-lol.
