GAME ON! (No, not that game.) It's hockey night in Canada.
Right now, Anaheim's Mighty Ducks are battling the Toronto Maple Leafs. And later it's the start of the Vancouver Canucks regular NHL season. As much fun as it is to watch the defensive and offensive posturing, and to see the occasional goal scored, on these stock threads -- given a choice I'll opt for watching the likes of Pavel Bure, Alexander Mogilny, Martin Gelinas and others every time.
There are, as ever, some interesting facts on the public record about players behind those stocks you mention. There's even some history on Nelson Bunker Hunt's previous fling with a junior VSE mining company, Iron Horse Resource Corp. that can be examined. When I find time, I'll post some related materials here (or if it becomes too long I may have to post it to my web site -- I don't know if anyone else has had this same experience, but I've found that SI has trouble accepting reply submissions when they reach a substantial length).
With time, and the ease of access that comes with the electronic filing of various data sources, due diligence research on VSE and other Canadian penny stocks will just become easier and easier. All the material that I've posted comes from public record documents that anyone can obtain -- that I've spent too much time doing this work over the past fifteen years just means that I'm in a position to know where to look for, and how to get, the info faster.
It's like having watched the same movie a few dozen times. The lines are all pretty familiar. But all the public information that can help level the playing field a little, and give average investors more of a chance in what is really an insider's game, is out there. (Without making things too unreadable, I'll try and refer to sources that can help people, especially in the U.S. and other regions outside of western Canada do this research on their own.)
Anyway, gotta go now -- the Leafs are on a power-play... |
