Let me just repeat this... If PG&E had for decades spent ratepayer money designated for safety and maintenance ON SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE instead of executive bonuses and other "perks"... The worst consequence being a golden parachute worth many millions. The unions too, in bed with management, fighting ballot and legislative efforts to allow competition and environmental transformations; Maybe it would not be happening this way. Captured regulators, legislators, mass media selling lucrative PG&E advertising and even willfully blind interests who received strategic donations and support all share some fraction of the blame. Break em' up for real. FIX THE PHYSICAL ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION. Transparency of how ratepayer money is spent, and the RESULTS. No golden parachutes for failure. Note I am not saying the state should own and run it..... yet. But this horseshit cannot go on.
