Nortel is a major investor with distribution rights of pre-IPO NetSpeed. Nortel has major bets in three types of DSL. ADSL with NetSpeed, their 1-meg modem which is a line-card for the DMS central offices and an very quietbut exciting IP over copper technology code-named EtherLoop which they will talk about in the Spring.

The NetSpeed ADSL is a real standout since it has a modem-sharing feature which allows over-subscription at the head-end vastly lowering the deployment costs for the Telco.
