Yes, small town, southern, rural France. For example St Quentin de la Poterie gave us a great summer. As did Palavas les flots. A friend has a big residence in Montauroux which I've enjoyed. Summer months [May to September] are great. Especially figs, nectarines, apricots, baguettes, camembert, etc. The Mediterranean is okay to swim in but a pale imitation of the ocean around New Zealand. Fishing in NZ is serious stuff. The Mediterranean has medusa jelly fish, one of which stung me on my upper arm at which time I learned that the pretty little things I had previously seen are viciously powerful. From then on I was scared to go in the water without inspecting the little section I planned to swim inn. No wonder I was the only person swimming around out deep from the shore = Salina, island off Sicily. I have never seen those off France. Maybe they like southern Italy.

Perhaps the fleeing Kong Kongers are people escaping the murderous Mainlanders who are now extraditing dissenters to the Mainland for organ harvesting or whatnot. Note to self - previous posts in SI probably make it wise to not visit Hong Kong. They might shoot me in the back.
