Do you just:

1. Go to a "subject" (e.g. Subject 56874 )
2. Click on a few of the latest posts/replies in the "subject"
3. For each post, follow the links upwards (i.e. clicking on "To: user123 who wrote (12345)") and downwards (i.e. clicking on "Read Replies") to read more posts.

Is this how it's supposed to work?

What I do and I think most other members as well is "subjectmark" the discussion rooms we are interested in following and once or twice each day we log onto Silicon Investor to skim and maybe read the new contributions that have been posted on those subjectmarks. It's really as simple as that. When you log on SI will tell you which of your subjectmarked rooms have new posts and how many in each. You click on that name or number and only the new (not yet read) posts will populate. It's very convenient.
