I agree with your assessment of MSFT's ownership of the desktop market

As the only game in town, and being on every desktop, its hard for them not to make money or to have a bad product anymore. All I question is the momentum.

Short term it has moved very fast. It was 118 in late December. The P/E ratio is really stretched.

The only thing that can hurt them is (1) DOJ anti-trust (2) a recession which shows that they are now like the auto companies (3) the maturing of the Java/Browser interface.
