Boswell mentions pistachios in particular as adding to profitability. According to Boswell's Annual Report, their 15,000 acres of pistachios began making a profit last year and will increase in profitability going forward. Using figures in my friend James Duade's analysis, the following are estimates of pistachios' contribution to profitability. Note there are about 1 million shares outstanding, so each million in profit add's $1 in EPS. FY 2021: 1,300 lbs. / acres $2 / lb. $2,600 revenue / acre 1,200 cost / acre $1,400 profit / acre 15,000 acres $21 million profit
FY 2022: 2,000 lbs. / acres $2 / lb. $4,000 revenue / acre 1,200 cost / acre $2,800 profit / acre 15,000 acres $42 million profit
FY 2023: 2,500 lbs. / acres & after $2 / lb. $5,000 revenue / acre 1,200 cost / acre $3,800 profit / acre 15,000 acres $57 million profit Cheers, Sully |
