LOL.. Don't mess with the beaver ! To regain status the right wing populist Reform (Born in the West of Canada) become Alliance did a reverse takeover of the old Progressives (Progressive Conservative) party to get creds, otherwise a party like that which YES would be a milder but certainly a Canadian facsimile of the GOP would NEVER GET ELECTED UP HERE ... PHEW!.. right wing bible thumpers and uber cons.. . and remain a fringe .. Anyway we used to have what we call Red Tories.. Typically in the Con party but like me socially Lib.. There are Liberal party members of similar ilk.. They could easily cross the floor.. So I also need to take exception with my pal Rose on this .. Our Conservatives up here are mainly NOTHING LIKE THE GOP.. Many would fit into the Dems.. which are certainly NOT all a bunch of progressives.. they are just the best you can do ... but they (our Cons) suffer from that mindset IMO.. I would agree though that our present Cons are still a bit to the right of the old Progressive Conservatives.. but not by much.. to get elected they need shed some deadwood... It appears that our Mr. Trudeau as a result of the pandemic is working on a new de facto social contract for Canadians.. this was not his plan nor in his platform.. but I look forward to seeing it.. it might just be the best thing any Canadian politician has done in my lifetime... Thrust upon him .. His pandemic response has been good so far.. I will not be a detractor on this.. but as I have posted the feds did let this happen.. Anyone who thinks otherwise is blinded... that IS ON MR. Trudeau.. He is just taking responsibility for his mess... unlike Mr. Trump.. so he gets a very good grade on that.. just remembering he is cleaning up his own mess.. though.. he is no hero here.. Covid may end up though allowing him to create a great legacy.. I hope so.. as that would be good for all.. waiting to see his new plan... remember this conservative (LOL) (as posted MANY times) is an ardent booster of UBI, Universal Healthcare and quality public ed.. (maybe we need double the teachers!!.. ) and that would be integrated into a public daycare system.... Then everyone gets a fair start and equal opportunity,, What you do with it is up to you.. but then no excuse for whining and it is better for EVERYONE.. even the haves.. You continue to have issues with my lack of dogmatic group-think :) That's OK.. I won't give up on you :)
